Chase Ketron with Silver Model Management

Finally revealing some amazing shots from my recent shoot with fitness model, Chase Ketron. For those of you who missed out on the 6:12 Photography's #passtheball excitement during last night's Super Bowl game, the infamous football shots are included in this post.

Let me give you a little history on Chase Ketron and the football shots.

Chase is pretty special to 6:12 Photography because I had the honor of being the first photographer to get Chase in front of the lens. In January 2014, Chase had no idea what he was getting himself into when he agreed to be part of a high fashion photo shoot with local designers, Diane Corey and Kelly Jones. A few weeks later, Chase was back in the studio shooting fitness portraits for the first time, and he brought a football. We didn't want just any regular shot with a football, we wanted something that would turn heads and get some attention---a strong fitness portrait. After trying out some different angles and poses and playing around with dramatic lighting, the idea came to us. A few minutes later, wearing nothing but a football, Chase and I created the infamous football shot.

A few days after that shoot, Chase and I were reviewing the football photos, trying to choose the best images, and Chase decided that he wanted to be in better shape and re-shoot with the football. Now, timeout, because if you're like me, you can take one look at Chase and think---"Better shape? It gets better?" I think that those of us supporting Chase and cheering him on look at him and see fitness model perfection, but Chase is the kind of guy that is constantly looking for ways to improve and raise the bar; in other words, he's hard on himself. So I figured if he's offering to make the shot even stronger, let's do it, and we scheduled a Round 2 for Spring, and then life happened and circumstances kept forcing the shoot to be postponed. Summer came and went, and then Fall, and finally in November, Chase and I were able to line up our schedules and get back in the studio. Not only did Chase kill it in front of the camera, but we ended up with an entire series of shots.

The next question was when to drop the photos online and make the big reveal. (Because meanwhile, Author Danielle Jamie, who had already featured one of 6:12's photos of Chase on her summer novel Just For The Summer, was threatening my life if I didn't reveal the photos soon.) Months went by, and then it hit me, Super Bowl Sunday would be the perfect day to reveal Chase and his football.

The rest is history. #themanbehindthefootball. #dontdroptheball. #passtheball.
