WERK the RUNWAY: Cycle 1 - Marc Nelson Denim

WERK the RUNWAY's second show featured looks from Knoxville's Marc Nelson Denim and designer, Marcus Hall.

"Denim has long been a fabric that has helped shape the life of Tennessee-native Marcus Hall. After immersing himself in the denim industry of Los Angeles and learning the details of denim design and production, Marcus decided to create a business focused on luxury denim and t-shirts, and he brought it home to Knoxville with a mission to bridge the gap between the avant garde culture of LA and the traditional style of the South. Marc Nelson Denim specializes in premium custom-fit and tailored denim jeans for men and women."

WERK the RUNWAY took place on Saturday, April 11 at the Best Western Plus Conference Center in Morristown, Tennessee. The event included a roster of amazing models and runway looks by five incredible designers --- The Charming Housewife (Lacey Fleming), Marc Nelson Denim, Charles Josef Bridal, Victoria Wilmoth Couture, and Paulie Gibson. The finale for the show, titled "Once Upon A Time: Fairy Tale Meets Fashion" was a collection styled by Eric McKinney and Missy Young and featuring Alice's painted flower dress created out of flowers by the Blossom Shop, providing an edgy and high fashion take on popular fairy tale characters like Snow White, Alice, Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty and several others.

Hairstyling for the runway was provided by Mackenzie Lane Knisley, Valerie Harville, Stephanie Greene, and Melissa Shelton. Music was provided by DJ Preston Husk, and the event was MC'd by Andi Beason. Styling and backstage assistance by Leah Noe and Frankie O'Neil.

I'm very excited to announce that WERK the RUNWAY: Cycle 1 was a huge success.

Photographer Eric McKinney of 6:12 Photography co-hosted the event with talented and award-winning makeup artist, Melissa Young of MUA Missy Young. 

WERK the RUNWAY took place on Saturday, April 11 at the Best Western Plus Conference Center in Morristown, Tennessee. 6:12's "Fashion Friday" - A Look at 2014's Fashion Photography

6:12 Photography has had the chance to work with some incredibly talented fashion models and designers over the past year.

   From the high fashion leather and chainmaille designs of Diane Corey (KC Leatherwerks) and Kelly Jones (Shadow Oak Maille), to the local designers of Knoxville Fashion Week to the incredibly creative designs of the 6:12 Greek Mythology Series, fashion has been a huge part of my year. It's also been a great year for working with local menswear designers like Marcus Hall and Andy Jones of Knoxville's Marc Nelson Denim, as well as a creative high fashion shoot in Nashville with some handsome male runway models.
