As I'm preparing for another trip to Los Angeles later this month, I wanted to take a moment on this #flashbackfriday to look back at one of my first photo shoots in LA. Working with Brock O'Hurn was one of the highlights of my first year as a full-time photographer. Towering over me at 6'7", he was a giant in front of the 6:12 lens, but he was also incredibly friendly.
Here's a look back on my shoot with Brock...

#612CrossCountryRoadTrip / Death Valley National Park
On my recent trip across the country, I passed through Death Valley National Park in central California on the drive east toward home. Death Valley is the hottest, driest and lowest national park in the country, as well as the largest national park in the continental United States.
Highway 190 crosses the Panamint Mountain Range and descends to the floor of Death Valley, paralleling the historic route that gold seekers forged when crossing the valley in 1849.
Warnings upon entering Death Valley National Park included (1) Do not rely on cell phone service, as coverage is extremely limited, (2) GPS is not always dependable and may lead you where you do not want to go, (3) heat kills! don't become a victim of Death Valley, drink plenty of water and carry extra water with you, (4) maintain at least half a tank of gasoline, and (5) the warnings against bees, scorpions and rattlesnakes.

6:12 Road Trip: Travel Photography --- Preview
Photographer, Eric McKinney of 6:12 Photography and makeup artist Missy Young took the opportunity to travel across the country, from Tennessee to California in January 2016. Our sights and stops along the way included Dallas, Amarillo and northern Texas; Monument Valley, Arches National Park and Zion National Park in Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; Los Angeles, Huntington Beach, San Diego, the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree National Park in California; Grand Canyon National Park and historic Route 66 in Arizona.
Since travel photography was how I originally fell in love with the art of photography, this trip across the U.S. was very special. Missy and I both agreed that we were able to see some incredible sights and cram a lot of traveling into what seemed like a short ten days on the road.
Here's a sneak peek at our #612roadtrip.

The LA / Hollywood Collection: Brock O'Hurn - Set 1
Here's the first set of portraits from my shoot with fitness model, Brock O'Hurn in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California. Brock definitely has a strong look to offer as a model, with his amazing hair and his handsome physique.
In recent months, Brock has become a major face/name in the fitness model industry. His muscles are not the only thing promoting him to the top. He's also teaching the world how to tie the perfect man bun with videos that have gone viral online.
