Masked Runway Show: Preview

On Thursday, October 23, 6:12 Photography by Eric McKinney co-hosted the "Masked Runway Show" at Latitude 35 in Knoxville's Market Square. The event included fashion designs, Marc Nelson Denim and the "6:12 Collection" of t-shirts created by photographer Eric McKinney. Makeup artistry was provided by Stephen Mee and Missy Young, and hairstyling by Melissa Shelton. The show featured an opening performance by Shaun Abbott and runway mixes by DJ Chris Pappas.

6:12 Cover Reveal --- "Metanoia" by Author Kellie J. Coakley

6:12 Photography is excited about partnering with author Kellie J. Coakley to provide the cover image for her upcoming novel, Metanoia. The cover image from 6:12 features two models, Matt Palumbo and Kelsea Lawson in a sexy embrace. The shoot took place in New York City's High Line Park.

Here's a brief interview with author K. J. Coakley to get the scoop behind this upcoming novel:

6:12 Photography : What can readers expect from this new novel? 

KJ Coakley : Metanoia takes us deeper into the ancient prophecy of the Star Child and Sulwens connections to it. We also get a peek into Logan's mind as this story is written in dual perspectives. But the best part...readers wanted to see more of the Enmortals, and in Metanoia--you get it. 

6:12 : When it comes to picking cover models, tell me what that process is like.

KJ : For me, choosing cover models was all about conveying the look and feel of my characters. 

6:12 : Why Matt? Why Kelsea?

KJ: When I saw their photos, everything just clicked together. They were perfect. 

6:12 : What is the one statement that you want this cover to say about your novel Metanoia? 

KJ: Fierce love. 

6:12 : I understand that we're practically neighbors. Where in Tennessee is home for you? 

KJ: Home for me is Greeneville, Tennessee.

6:12 : How long have you been writing, and where does that passion as an author come from?

KJ: I've been writing poems and short stories my entire life. Every author's inspiration comes from different sources, but mine would have to be from my love of all things extraordinary. I like creating worlds where anything is possible and my characters conform to the environment I put them in. 

6:12 : Was there a specific inspiration behind the Enmortals Series? Anything particular that put the idea for the series into your brain or got those creative juices flowing for the series?

KJ: My boys used to play a card game called Magic: The Gathering. After listening to them talk about it for months on end, I picked up the cards and looked at the characters, and brilliant world building behind the game. It sparked the idea of creating a world where those with powers lived on a parallel dimension to ours. 

6:12: Sounds like a great mix of sci-fi and romance for readers.

   Derrick has an incredible presence in front of the camera. He knows how to turn on the charm using those bedroom eyes and tightening and flexing all the muscles of that strong physique. With his charisma and his drive to create strong photos, Derrick is definitely a model on his way to big things in the fitness/cover model industry.

The NYC Collection: James Van Nostrand with Silver Model Management - Preview

   Here's a sneak peek from my shoot in New York City with James Van Nostrand, on the busy streets of Manhattan and at a public park near the Brooklyn Bridge.

   When James arrived at the shoot, the first thing I noticed was those amazing blue eyes. I had seen several shots from his portfolio, but nothing prepares you for how stunning his eyes are. But it doesn't stop with the eyes. James has an incredible physique, and a personality and charisma that really makes him a blast to work with. We were able to connect early on in the shoot and share a vision for each shot that we wanted to create; his ability to take direction well and his drive to give 110% for each shot made for a pretty perfect photo shoot. It seems pretty evident that James and those baby blue eyes are about to take the world by storm!

Here's the best photos from my shoot in Gloucester, Massachusetts with model and professional hockey player, Mike Devin. We found some interesting abandoned spots in downtown Gloucester and finished up on a private beach at a local park near the Fisherman's Memorial.

Exclusive 6:12 Model: Harry Hughes - Set 1

Here's a look at some of the best photos from my first shoot with one of the newest Exclusive 6:12 Models, Harry Hughes. With great hair and a strong physique, Harry definitely has a lot of potential; we decided to create a blend of fitness and high fashion.

   Harry will be one of the models walking for 6:12 Photography in the upcoming Masquerade Ball & Masked Runway Show co-hosted by Charlotte Couture and 6:12 Photography. The Masked Runway Show will take place on Thursday, October 23rd at 7:30pm at Latitude 35 in Knoxville's Market Square. The Mermaid Collection: Downtown Knoxville & Cherokee Lake

   Check out "The Mermaid Collection" by 6:12 Photography by Eric McKinney. 
   The beautiful and unique mermaid tails (and our merman's tail) were provided by Eric Ducharme, designer and owner of The Mertailor in Crystal River, Florida. The Mertailor provides both custom and pre-made mermaid and merman tails for clientele all over the world. Each tail is one-of-a-kind, made from the highest quality materials to create an appearance that will make anyone do a double take and question the existence of these mythical creatures.

   As the owner of The Mertailor, Eric Ducharme has been creating mermaid tails since he was just a kid. What began as mermaid tails made from garbage bags, masking tape and the sheets off his own bed eventually turned into tails sewn by hand with a needle and thread. He was only 14 when he began filling orders for his tail designs. Today, Eric is creating his tails out of silicone, urethanes and latex rubbers, and his clientele includes Lady Gaga, Target, Saturday Night Live, Walt Disney studios, and Pirates of the Caribbean. 
   It was a true honor to collaborate with Eric for an opportunity to shoot with some of his incredible Mertailor designs. No matter where my shoots took place with these tails, we were constantly surrounded by crowds wanting to watch the shoot and inquire about how my "mermaids" were possible. Huge thanks to Eric and The Mertailor for making this collection possible, and specials to makeup artist Missy Young and all of the models as well. You can ask any of the models (or the helping hands at each shoot), being a mermaid isn't an easy task.
